Clumps and Crumbs

"Magical! Our toddler rarely sits still for long but he was enthralled for the whole show and delighted in all the different props"

"Beautiful experience full of wonder! The kids loved it"

"Brilliant. Even got my shy, grumpy 4 year old on board!"

From their tower, two cloud collectors share some of the stories they’ve seen stretched across the Scottish sky. Clumps and Crumbs is a sensory storytelling performance for children aged 2-5 and their adults.

Through play, movement and oral storytelling, this performance immerses you in the world’s oldest storybook: the sky! A story that’s never-ending and ever-evolving. We celebrate the timeless tales we see in the shapeshifting, forever-drifting clouds, we get carried away on a windy day whim, and we find ourselves captivated by even the dampest and dreariest of grey Glasgow skies.

Clumps and Crumbs is made for ambitious world builders, professional play makers, nosy noticers, curious questioners, slightly chaotic crafters, wonder-seeking wanderers and daydreamers who can’t help but look out the window and float away.

The performance is 1-hour long, with pockets of play throughout. During the performance, the young audience are welcome to move, change spots, and make noises, and, at various points, the audience (adults included!) are invited to play and interact with the performers, the objects on stage, the set and each other!

Clumps and Crumbs was commissioned by the Village Storytelling Centre and premiered at their International Storytelling Festival in Glasgow in 2026.
